New Soldering/Jewelry Station

So today I was inspired to take down my sewing machine and clean up that little counter space to make it into the Soldering/Jewelry Station.  I have very limited space to dedicate to art and jewelry making and I was getting frustrated at having to clear off my art space to change it into a place to solder and make jewelry.  Therefore, postponing making charms, wall jewelry and wearable jewelry.  Now it will be easy with a dedicated soldering area already set up with all the goodies, all I have to do it plug in my irons and sit down.  Ahhh the freedom!

Crazy how we get stuck in our ways - or allow things to be a barrier to freedom.  Take a look around and see if there is something you can change to make your life easier. 

A New Year

As we enter this new year, the Divine Source encourages us to remember our true selves and to create our lives thought by thought, emotion by emotion, action by action. 

We are a being of energy and what we transmit is what we receive.  For most of us, it takes some practice to monitor our thoughts, actions and emotions and transmit only what we want to experience.  I admit that it took me many years to finally 'get it' and put this concept into action and it has totally changed my life.  For more information on this subject, take a look at Esther Hicks channeling an ascended being called Abraham.  You can find videos on YouTube and she has published a number of books.

The beginning of the new year is a time when we reflect on the past and make resolutions for change.  I have many things I need to do, but I am being kind to myself and taking small steps.  Small steps will eventually get you to your goal.  Be gentle, kind and forgiving to yourself and be brave to make changes in your life.

 

First Gallery Show

I will be showing collages, paintings (mixed media) and wall jewelry at the Pyramid Cafe in Vancouver!  The show opens next Friday, October 7, with the artists reception (that's me!) from 5:00 to 7:00PM.  The opening is in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Vancouver, so there is a lot happening in town.

It was really an honor to get the invitation to participate and I look forward to learning more about the process of showing art. 

After a lifetime of doing various arts and crafts, my art has become very specific in the last few years, focusing on a visual expression of spiritual thoughts and ideas.  I will be showing several new pieces at this show.

After jamming to finish pieces for the show, my art space was a huge mess, so I spent today cleaning up my space.  Now I get to enjoy a short period of time before the next creation makes a mess of it again.  But the best part is that now I also have my inspiration 'cleared' for the next ideas to come forth.  This is a really fun time when I go through my sketchbooks and idea folders and start to plan the next work.  Will it be painting, collage, wall jewelry or wearable jewelry?  Colors, gemstones, media - so many choices and so much fun!

Live in the Place between Thoughts

I just realized that I did not post this collage I did several months ago.  It depicts the calm that is created when you control your mind and live in the peace between thoughts, rather than focus on the thoughts themselves.  Take a moment to just focus on your breath and breathing.  Relax and release.  Then go back to your day.

 

Grow and Bloom

As we continue on our journey of life we have opportunities to grow and learn.  Some are easy and some are difficult.  But each one gives us an opportunity to enhance our spirit, learn and develop our personalities.  I was thinking on this and dove into my art supplies to see what I had to express this concept and found a set of botanical rub-ons.  I drew her face in graphite and watercolor pencils,
painted the canvas, did some stamping and embossing and used the rub-ons to create this image on 12x12 stretched canvas.  The butterfly represents the beautiful spirit that we become. 

The scanner bed does not show the entire painting, so I will take a picture and post it later.  Also, the scanner light washes out the drawing for some reason.  There is more depth of color when you see it in person.  More technical things to learn about posting art!

We are Light

Some clients ask me what I see when I channel or read people's energy.  I see all kinds of different things, movies, pictures, auras.  I hear words, sounds, music.  Mostly I feel or know - through my guides - answers, feelings, yes or no.  But one thing I have seen since childhood are lights.  Jewel colored lights that appear briefly from another dimension.  They are spirit beings, shown in their pure form without a physical body.  We are light too, our soul and our chakras (energy centers in our spirit body).  I have wanted to try a painting showing these, so here is my first effort.  I need more practice at this, but I do enjoy painting.  (Image is blurry because it is oversized for the scanner and it is up off the glass.  Should have digital pictures soon that will be sharp.)

I hope you made it well through June's energy changes, I felt absolutely empowered and hope you did too.

 

See the World through Different Eyes

 
Just finished my latest painting "See the World".  It is about seeing the world through different eyes - using your spiritual eyes and spiritual perspective, rather than using just your brain or emotions.  In this painting, she literally has different colored eyes as a play on words.  In the scan, you can't see the sparkle embossing on the swirls, which is really pretty in person. 

I drew the girl on art paper and then glued it to a 6x8 canvasboard, then colored her with watercolor pencils.  Gave the background a color wash, then stenciled, stamped and embossed the swirls and butterflies.  The words are stamped on vintage book paper, embossed and glued to the piece and shadowed with colored pencil.  I am really enjoying practicing these new techniques.

Metaphysical Fair

Tonight I had the honor and pleasure of counseling some amazing people.  The three hours just flew by and they practically had to kick us out because we were enjoying ourselves so much.  I am thankful for the opportunity of meeting people and listening to their diverse guides.  If you are one of the people I read for tonight, thank you and blessings to you on your journey - I hope to see you again!

The main information that comes from the guides right now is to know that you are the creator of your life experience.  I call it "Intentional Living".  It is the process of monitoring your thoughts, regulating emotions, changing behaviors and producing actions to consciously create your life. 

Life is not about "finding" oneself, it is about "creating" oneself.  Creating the best quality of life in your situation and then planting seeds for the future.

I don't just talk about this, the practice of Intentional Living has been the key to balance and happiness in my own life.  Seeds of intention that I planted are now coming to fruition.  I have been writing a page for my website on this subject and all of a sudden I was typing  "Suzanna will be presenting Intentional Living workshops and classes soon."  I do sometimes channel when I type and this was a surprise message for me.  So I guess I better get started writing!

If you would like more information on the subject, I recommend "Ask and it is Given" by Esther and Jerry Hicks.  I don't really recommend the book on CD because the person who reads it sounds very robotic and boring.  But the book is great.

Spread Your Wings

Here she is - the pencil sketch I recently posted - I have painted a mixed media canvas entitled "Spread Your Wings".  Which is exactly what I am doing in my life right now...with my art, with my healing techniques, making new friends, etc.  This canvas includes drawing, collage, painting, watercolor pencils, stencils, stamps, embossing and alcohol inks.  I saved my original drawing so that I could create other versions of her.  I'm experimenting, trying new things - spreading my wings.  Not everything on this canvas turned out the way I thought it would, but the experience is in the doing, the experience of trying and the experience of creating something new in the world.  Living with conscious creation is all about energy, testing it, shaping it and bringing it forth in your world. 

If you have a brand new idea or new opportunity come your way - it may be the result of seeds of intention you planted previously.  Take a look at it, try it on for size and see how it feels...spread your wings and fly!
