For me, artistic inspiration can be pretty much anything. Usually it is something that I see, hear or feel that brings an idea forth. Sometimes it's an idea from the spirit realm, sometimes it's from me. Sometimes it's from interests in the past or past lives.
Lately I have really been drawn to quartz crystals and gemstones. Many years ago, my interest in crystals ignited me on a new spiritual path, and today they are calling to me again. Over the years I have collected many pieces of jewelry with gemstones that I wear when I need that particular stones' energy for assistance. I find it to be helpful for me. There are many books available that list the spiritual properties of crystals and stones, if you are interested in learning more about them.
So lately I have been inspired to create jewelry for home or body that have gemstone accents. I have been spending lots of time researching various sites for supplies and sketching out ideas. Listening to my Guides for channeled affirmations to go with a combination of art and gemstone for the piece. I really have been enjoying it and look forward to what comes from it.
Other new old inspiration comes from ballet. After I saw the movie "Black Swan" it reminded me of my own dancing. Some of you know that I used to dance ballet, from about age 8 to 33 (on and off). At the height of my ability I danced "The Four Cygnets" from Swan Lake. I used to really enjoy dancing and remember the concentration, strength and balance it required.
I was thinking about how I continue to make my best attempt at living a positive lifestyle, keep myself in an energy of loving/kindness and keep my thoughts on creation of today and the future. This is not an easy task and it requires concentration and energy, but it is so worthwhile and has brought balance, peace and joy into my life.
So I encourage you to take a look at some "new old inspiration" and see what comes up for you. Namaste
