I will be showing collages, paintings (mixed media) and wall jewelry at the Pyramid Cafe in Vancouver! The show opens next Friday, October 7, with the artists reception (that's me!) from 5:00 to 7:00PM. The opening is in conjunction with the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Vancouver, so there is a lot happening in town.
It was really an honor to get the invitation to participate and I look forward to learning more about the process of showing art.
After a lifetime of doing various arts and crafts, my art has become very specific in the last few years, focusing on a visual expression of spiritual thoughts and ideas. I will be showing several new pieces at this show.
After jamming to finish pieces for the show, my art space was a huge mess, so I spent today cleaning up my space. Now I get to enjoy a short period of time before the next creation makes a mess of it again. But the best part is that now I also have my inspiration 'cleared' for the next ideas to come forth. This is a really fun time when I go through my sketchbooks and idea folders and start to plan the next work. Will it be painting, collage, wall jewelry or wearable jewelry? Colors, gemstones, media - so many choices and so much fun!
